Saudi Airlines Cargo has upheld its strong presence in the European market, earning the “Top Cargo Airline Performance” award and thus confirming its position as the leading cargo airline operating out of Brussels for the third consecutive year.
The award was handed out during the annual Brussels Airport Aviation Awards event, which recognizes airlines and partners that stand out in terms of punctuality and performance, environment and safety and network and route development. The award criteria was based on number of flights, number of destinations to and from Brussels, total tonnage, uplift per flight, and change in volume compared to the previous year.
Europe is a key market for the airline, which operates an average of 11 flights a week to 7 destinations around the globe and has been a major cargo airline at Brussels Airport for many years.
“These encouraging figures serve to highlight the importance of the European market to our operations and our commitment to growth worldwide,” commented Nabil Khojah, CEO of Saudia Cargo.
“Thanks to the team effort in Brussels, the receipt of this award and past awards from Brussels Airport demonstrate the success of Saudia Cargo in the European market. We hope this success will continue in future, both within this region and further afield,” added Saud Arab, VP Network at Saudia Cargo.
Saudi Airlines Cargo operates a fleet of 15 freighters and sells the belly-capacity on 145 passenger aircraft for Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier Saudia, spanning a rapidly expanding global network of 225 destinations. In addition to its scheduled freighter services, the cargo airline also provides cost-effective and practical worldwide charter flight solutions from a growing fleet of dedicated charter aircraft.
Brussels Airport is one of the largest airports in Europe, handling 19 million passengers and 430,000 tonnes of freight annually. Brussels Airport links the European capital with 232 destinations worldwide that are served by 78 different airlines.
